CLEANING OUT YOUR MENTAL ATTIC....

Speaking for myself, I've got a lot of clutter from the past, some of it is GOOD, but far too much of it is BAD. Which is why the GOOD memories become priceless to me. I want to hold on to the GOOD memories and momentos of those days, as long as I can.

I've run into a brick wall in regards to finding information about my ROP CLASS. I made this webpage out of DESPERATION. For slightly OVER A YEAR, I've had NO luck finding information and individuals.

I've contacted various offices in California. Unfortunately, it's been unproductive to say the least.

At some point, during the late nineties - or early 2000s - I read an online newspaper report. It was about one of my ROP classrooms burning down. If I remember correctly, the fire started in the building in front of our main classroom. I think the cause was listed as "electrical wiring". I've been searching my CD-Rs for any document files with that info. I know I saved that information, but I can NOT find that file. I've also contacted the county fire department, but they can't find info for me, unless I have an exact date and location of the fire.

Above is an aerial photo of the ROP campus ( from unknown year ).

ROP CLASS OF 1981 CAMPUS MAP... The map above, was done by hand. I know the map is horrible, so just pretend it's expertly done... ha-ha-ha. It shows the ROP CAMPUS in 1981 ( as I remember it ).

At one point during my ROP class, our instructor took a class photo of us. It was taken in front of our main classroom ( we had two classrooms ). I never got a copy, and I don't know if anyone in our class got one. In fact, I was starting to think that experience was just a figment of my imagination. But, it wasn't. I know it happened, I did NOT imagine it! I especially remember when our instructor yelled at me to "SMILE DAMN IT!"

I tended to be on the serious side, and those were dark days for me. That class made me happy, and I looked forward to attending it everyday. Which is one of the reasons I loved that class.

YEARBOOKS.... I've searched the internet for digital versions of yearbooks from my former county of residence. I targeted 1981 yearbooks from certain schools. I don't remember all of my classmates names, and which schools they attended.

ANCESTRY.COM has a ton of yearbooks. However, you have to PAY to see their digital versions.

The INTERNET ARCHIVE also has a bunch of DIGITIZED YEARBOOKS. But, I have NOT been able to find the books I'm looking for.

There are some so-called FREE websties that are actually SCAMS.

As for EBAY, they have COUNTLESS yearbooks for sale. I do NOT have an account with them, nor do I want one. Have you seen the prices of those books?!

Just for the record, in the United States, YEARBOOKS are considered a matter of PUBLIC RECORD. So, why should anyone pay a private company to look at a digital version?! Public libraries should have them available on their websites!

At this point, I don't know what else to do.

As I've said before, I'm NOT going to join FACEBOOK ( aka FECESbook ), TWITTER, or similar websites. Those websites ABUSE your PRIVATE INFORMATION. Plus, I do NOT want the public reading private things.

And, I am NOT going to pay for information.

QUOTE from the movie MAGNOLIA - "We may be through with the past, but the past is never through with us".

As always, I would appreciate any help you can give me.
